By air

Adelaide Airport is your gateway to Barossa, with domestic airlines such as Qantas, Virgin Australia, and Jetstar offering regular connections from across Australia.

International travellers can access Adelaide via major carriers, including Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates, China Southern Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Fiji Airways.

Getting here - Car

By car

Driving to the Barossa is simple and convenient. Take the Northern Expressway for a direct route to Tanunda or Greenock, or choose the scenic drive via North East Road and Chain of Ponds through Williamstown. The Barossa Valley Way provides an alternative path via Lyndoch, offering a glimpse of the region’s charm along the way.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective way to get to the region, Adelaide Metro provides train services to Gawler Central, the nearest major station to the Barossa. From there, LinkSA operates a daily bus service connecting Gawler to Barossa towns, including Tanunda, Lyndoch, and Angaston.

By bike

There are many routes by bike between Adelaide and the Barossa – quick and direct routes, the slow way via some of our famous wineries, by train to Gawler and via the Adelaide Hills.  The most popular rides between Adelaide and the Barossa follow either the Gorge Road past Kangaroo Creek Reservoir to Williamstown via Kersbrook, or via Gumeracha. 

An alternative route is Lower North East Road to Houghton and Inglewood to connect Chain of Ponds Road and South Para Road to Williamstown via Kersbrook.
